Scientific Purpose/Goals: Recover, refurbish and redeploy sediment traps with pressure, optical backscatter and microcat sensors. Collect a few bottom sediment samples with a small grab sampler and/or core tube.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: 11/8: Curt Storlazzi and others recover tube trap at Kamiloloa. 11/11: Recovery and deployment of tube traps at Hale Olono, Pala'au, and Kamiloloa. Recover Honjo instrument packages at Pala'au and Kamiloloa. 11/13: Mike Field and Curt Storlazzi deployed tube traps and Dobies at Puko'o and Kamalo. Recovery and deployment of tube traps on mud flat south of Hotel Molokai. 11/14: Deployment of Honjo instrument packages at Pala'au and Kamiloloa. Collection of grab samples at Pala'au and Kamiloloa. Collection of 3 push cores at Pala'au. Deployment of tube trap attached to camera framework west of Kaunakakai wharf. Moorings recovered: 2 (#661 and 662 both deployed FA 01063 ALYCE C Jul. 31 - Aug. 5, 2001). Moorings deployed: 2 (#680 and 681 recovered FA 02027 ALYCE C Feb. 14-15, 2002).
