Coastal & Marine Geology Program

Field Activity Details for field activity 2003-001-FA

Other ID: G1-03-GM;TAMU 03-G-4

Status: Completed

Organization(s): USGS, Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center

Funding Program(s):

Principal Investigator(s): Deborah Hutchinson

Affiliate Investigator(s): Pat Hart, CMG-Menlo Park

Information Specialist(s): Seth Ackerman

Data Type(s): Seismics: Multichannel, Seismics: Sub Bottom Profiler, Location-Elevation: Navigation

Scientific Purpose/Goals: (a) To provide site survey information for the two JIP drilling sites/lease blocks (Keathley Canyon 195 and Atwater Valley 14). (b) To tie the new data to regional coverages in the Gulf. (c) To tie the MARION DUFRESNE coring sites into the regional MCS grid. (d) To provide baseline information for selecting targets for the August NRL/DOE Gyre cruise.

Vehicle(s):

Start Date: 2003-04-29

Start Port/Location: Galveston, TX

End Date: 2003-05-16

End Port/Location: Galveston, TX

Equipment Used: Multichannel seismics, Knudsen 1600 USB 1.2 kW with 2 Massa transducers (3.5 kHz), DGPS
