Scientific Purpose/Goals: Study the ecology of the invasive tunicate Didemnum vexillum and its response to seasonal temperature changes in a New England tide pool habitat.
Start Date: 2007-12-12
End Date: 2007-12-12
Equipment Used: Stowaway Tidbit temperature logger, Digital camera, Submersible Observation
Information to be Derived:
Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Collected 1,669 digital photos (jpeg format on CD-ROM) of Didemnum vexillum colonies and tide pool, and time series temperature data.
Staff: Dann Blackwood, Page Valentine
Notes: This is the final field activity in a series of 41 over 4 years. Tide pool is located at 41.77222 N, 70.49 W. First tide pool visit was 12/04/03. Water temperature loggers were deployed from 07/26/04 to 12/12/07, with a gap in water temperature data from 09/27/04 to 10/31/04. Original Center People field contained: Page Valentine - Ch.
