Time-series data of water surface elevation, wave height, and water column currents, temperature, and salinity were acquired for 150 days between 13 April and 14 July 2015 off the north coast of the island of Tutuila, American Samoa in support of a study on the coastal circulation patterns within and in the vicinity of the National Park of American Samoa.
<purpose>These time-series data were collected as a part of a larger investigation into the circulation and transport along the coast off the National Park of American Samoa on the island of Tutuila, American Samoa.</purpose>

<procdesc>Files are named with a convention that uses a 13-digit alpha-numeric code. The first three characters for this dataset are all 'AMS' for the experiment name. The fourth and fifth characters represent the calendar year in which the first data point in the file was taken (15, 2015). The sixth and seventh characters are an alphanumeric code for the site name (M1, M2, etc.). The eighth character is a code to designate if the instrument was on a mooring in the water column (M) or a tripod on the bottom (T). The ninth and tenth characters represent the instrument position on the platform, where 01 is the top-most (for the Hobo loggers, the ninth is the instrument position, and the tenth is the deployment number, as these instruments were recovered and redeployed). Next is a two or three-character code for data type (ad, RDI acoustic Doppler current profiler [ADCP]); ct, SBE-37 temperature and salinity logger; tl, Hobo temperature logger). Files of wave statistics from RDI ADCP have the suffix 'wvs-p'.</procdesc>
