Lineage: Process_Step: Process_Description: In 2018 the USGS, PCMSC collected bathymetry data in the Cache Slough Complex and the Sacramento River Deep Water Ship Channel, California. Interferometric bathymetric sidescan sonar systems were mounted to the USGS R/V San Lorenzo and R/V Kelpfly. Post-processed Applanix POS-MV attitude data (SBET) were merged with each original survey line file to create new post-processed survey line files. The post-processed line files were imported into SonarWiz software (version 6) for bathymetric processing. The bathymetric data from each vessel were cleaned of obvious bad soundings and the soundings were gridded into individual 1-m surfaces. The surfaces were exported as ASCII XYZ files in UTM zone 10 WGS84 coordinates vertically referenced to the WGS84 ellipsoid. The coordinates were transformed to UTM zone 10 NAD83 coordinates vertically referenced to NAVD88 using V-Datum software. The new XYZ data were imported into QPS Fledermaus software and gridded into 1-m surfaces. The surfaces were exported as ASCIIRaster files and imported into a Geographic Information System (GIS). The Kelpfly and San Lorenzo bathymetry grids were merged together using the "merge to new raster" ArcMap tool. The merged bathymetry grid was then exported as a GeoTIFF file in UTM zone 10, NAD83 coordinates vertically referenced to NAVD88. To create the shaded-relief imagery, an illumination having an azimuth of 300 degrees and 45 degrees above the horizon was applied to the bathymetry grid.
