Data were collected aboard University of Washington’s R/V Clifford A. Barnes during USGS field activity 2017-612-FA using an Applied Acoustics triple plate S-Boom sound source and recorded on a 24 channel Geometrics digital hydrophone streamer. Sub-bottom acoustic penetration spans several hundreds of meters and is variable by location. Purpose: Data were acquired to support the USGS Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program’s earthquake, tsunami, and landslide active margin field studies to aide hazard assessment of the Seattle Fault zone in central Puget Sound and Lake Washington. Data were collected to characterize recent deformation and estimate earthquake recurrence on the Seattle Fault zone. These data and information are intended for science researchers, students from elementary through college, policy makers, and general public. Supplemental_Information: Additional information about the field activities from which these data were derived is available online at: http://cmgds.marine.usgs.gov/fan_info.php?fan=2017-612-FA Any use of trade, product, or firm names is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply endorsement by the U.S. Government. Lineage: Process_Step: Process_Description: Multichannel boomer seismic-reflection data were collected using a 24-channel Geometrics digital hydrophone streamer and an Applied Acoustics triple-plate S-Boom sound source. Processing steps include: conversion from SEG-D to SEGY format, geometry application, trace kills, bandpass filter (90-200-1000-2000), FK filter of boat noise, median three trace running trace mix, normal moveout, AGC, trace balance, stack, bandpass filter, migration and water column mute. Navigation was converted from seconds of arc to UTM zone 10N.
