Purpose: The continuous measurements of waves, currents, tides, and water-column properties (temperature and suspended sediment) from these instrument deployments provide invaluable detailed data on circulation, wave transformation and the transport of sediment in a pristine coral reef environment. These data will be used to determine the processes responsible for the transport of reef-derived carbonate sediment towards the shore, and estimate the volume of this carbonate sediment flux; predictions can then be made on how this flux will change with rising sea levels.
