A meteorological station was placed on the roof (approximately 18 meters [m] in elevation, referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 [NAVD88]) of the Shoreline Island Resort (27.796210, -82.796080) at Madeira Beach, Florida to collect wind, pressure, temperature, humidity, and rainfall data. The data file included in this data release contains the measurements, with a five-minute sampling interval, for the period January 25, 2023, to August 30, 2023.
<purpose>Provide data on weather conditions relevant to coastal change following impacts from Hurricane Idalia at Madeira Beach, Florida.</purpose>
<supplinf>Following U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (USGS SPCMSC) data management protocols, these data were assigned USGS field activity number (FAN), 2022-305-FA. The field setup and deployment was associated with USGS Field Activity 2022-305-FA. The meteorological station was equipped with a HOBO MicroRX Station, R.M. Young marine wind gauge (05106), onset rain gauge (S-RBB-M002), and an Onset temperature and humidity sensor. Data was collected every 5 minutes and uploaded to an Amazon S3 bucket. Data was downloaded as a series of comma-separated values (.csv) files from the Amazon S3 bucket cloud server and concatenated using Python into a single .csv file with all the data present.</procdesc>
