Positional_Accuracy: Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy: Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report: These data were navigated with a Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS); they are accurate to about +/- 3 meters, horizontally. The textural characteristics of the sediments from these cruises were determined at the USGS Woods Hole Field Center Sediment Laboratory. The sediment grain size distribution was measured using a combination of mechanical sieves or a rapid sediment analyzer to measure the sediment fraction greater than 63 microns in diameter, and a coulter counter to measure the abundance of particles less than 63 microns in diameter. The bottom photographs that are included with this publication were recorded on 35 mm film. After developing, the film was used to create a digital archive of the photographs on CD-ROM. The digital photos were stored as .PCD files which were later converted to .JPG images for use in this publication. During bottom sampling, video of the sea floor was recorded to Hi-8 mm video tape.
