Grain size data were reprocessed, reviewed, and returned to affected WHCMSC Sediment Laboratory customers in September 2023 as part of a corrective action taken after an issue was identified in the data processing workbook (version 1.0) used to calculate grain size statistics and phi class distributions from raw data obtained from the Sediment Laboratory's Horiba LA-960 laser diffraction unit. Workbook version 2.1 was used to reprocess the data. For detailed information, please refer to the metadata for this data release. Please note that during reprocessing, the order of the columns in the CSV file changed. 2. The grain-size data were reimported into Matlab, the column headings were given unique names, and the significant figures were adjusted appropriately. The final data was then exported to a CSV file and saved as a shapefile in ArcGIS Pro. 3. A vertical datum relative to local sea surface was added. 4. The entities and attributes section was updated with revised minimum and maximum values. 5. Incorrect FAN numbers were fixed in the FAN column of the CSV file and shapefile. 6. Online linkages, DOI number, and file names were updated in the metadata. Earlier version available by contacting whsc_data_contact@usgs.gov
