Other ID: CAMP 2-2; A-6-87-SC
Organization(s): USGS, Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center
Principal Investigator(s): David A. Cacchione
Affiliate Investigator(s): William Strahle
Data Type(s): Sampling: Biology, Sampling: Geology, Environmental Data: CTD, Sampling: Chemistry, Location-Elevation: Navigation, Time Series: Mooring (physical oceanography)
Scientific Purpose/Goals: The primary objectives of this cruise are recovery of USGS current meter moorings and GEOPROBE tripods which were deployed during the May 1987 USGS sediment dynamics cruise (SPROUL, FA 87017), obtain box cores and CTD profiles at selected sites, and navigate mooring locations for future recovery of anchors.
Start Port/Location: Ventura, CA
End Port/Location: Ventura, CA
Start Date: 1987-07-29
End Date: 1987-07-31
Equipment Used: Box corer, SBE 9 CTD, GEOPROBE, Loran-C
Information to be Derived: Time series data;
Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: CAMP 2-2 weathered out; no samples collected. Mooring and GEOPROBE Station A (R-8) navigated in using Miniranger and acoustic transponder.
