Scientific Purpose/Goals: Acquisition of surficial sediment samples to verify NPTN92-1 (FA 92006) sidescan sonar interpretations. Reconnaissance of geologic framework and surficial sediment textures at selected sites using Osprey underwater video camera and VCR.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Of the proposed 75 sampling stations, 61 were occupied. Samples were recovered from 59 of those stations. Bottom video was obtained at 18 of these sites. All video was stored on 2 8-mm data tapes.
