Scientific Purpose/Goals: The objectives of this cruise are: collect undisturbed vibracores (30) in critical high-sedimentation areas of the estuary; collect hydro. survey data and sidescan sonar in key areas for use in comparing with older data to derive sediment budgets for the basin and assess impacts of past shell dredging and current trawling activities; and, if time permits, complete the regional grid of seismic and sidescan sonar data that was begun during last year's cruise.
