Status: Completed

Organization(s): USGS, Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center

Funding Program(s):

Principal Investigator(s): Michael Bothner

Affiliate Investigator(s): William Martin, WHOI

Information Specialist(s): Michael Casso

Data Type(s): Imagery: Photo, Sampling: Chemistry, Sampling: Geology

Scientific Purpose/Goals: Collect sediment cores at Stations 2 and 3 for measurements or pore water profiles, erosion, solid phase chemistry. Collect bottom water at Station 2.

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: U.S. Coast Guard Base, Boston, MA

End Port/Location: U.S. Coast Guard Base, Boston, MA

Start Date: 2007-03-21

End Date: 2007-03-21

Equipment Used: Niskin bottle, Digital camera, Slow corer

Information to be Derived: Samples and chemical analysis;

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: 7 cores were collected from Station 3, 2 cores collected from Station 2. About 10 gallons of bottom water were collected at Station 2. All core cutting (for pore water) and erosion experiments were conducted after transporting cores back to the lab in Woods Hole.
