Affiliate Investigator(s): Serena Moseman; Jim Tang and Wei-Chun Chao, MBL
Information Specialist(s): Kevin Kroeger
Data Type(s): Environmental Data: Methane, Location-Elevation: Navigation, Sampling: Geology, Environmental Data: CO2
Scientific Purpose/Goals: Quantify greenhouse gas fluxes from salt marsh sediment, including their responses to nutrient additions through field measurements and manipulations.
Vehicle(s):
Start Port/Location:
End Port/Location:
Start Date: 2009-07-10
End Date: 2009-07-17
Equipment Used: Gas sampler, GPS (wh), Grab sampler, CO2 Analyzer
Information to be Derived: Samples and chemical analysis;
Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Gas flux chambers were placed on the salt marsh surface, and fluxes were measured of nitrous oxide, methane and carbon dioxide. Variability with space and time was examined, and influence of nitrogen availability of sunlight was examined.
