Scientific Purpose/Goals: Repeat CRP survey of the lines covered in 2010-006-FA using similar equipment and personnel.

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: Indian River Marina, Rehoboth Beach, DE

End Port/Location: Indian River Marina, Rehoboth Beach, DE

Start Date: 2010-10-04

End Date: 2010-10-08

Equipment Used: Echosounder, Temperature and salinity, HYPACK, AGI SuperSting

Information to be Derived:

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: 4 Oct 2010 (Monday): Bratton and Bergeron drove from Woods Hole to Delaware, launched boat, and set up gear--too windy to survey. 5 Oct 2010: began surveying but CRP equipment problems prevented collection of any good data, returned to marina to troubleshoot and ended early with no progress. 6 Oct 2010: Joel Banaszak arrived with backup CRP gear from Univ. of Toledo; completed approximately 9 hrs of surveying (10 lines E-W and N-S). 7 Oct 2010: completed approx. 7 hrs of surveying of bay perimeter and tight grid at Holts Landing; bad weather and equipment trouble ended surveying early; most CRP data collected was corrupt upon downloading; demobilized gear and pulled boat out of the water on trailer. 8 Oct 2010: drove back to Woods Hole. After processing, most CRP data collected appeared to be of low quality or unusable; navigation, bathymetry, and water quality data were all good. Planned repeat of survey is for September or October of 2011.
