AKA: SPE15

Other ID: none

Status: Completed

Organization(s): USGS, Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center

Funding Program(s): Sediment Transport in Coastal Environments (ZP00FDB)

Principal Investigator(s): Jessica Lacy

Affiliate Investigator(s):

Information Specialist(s): Joanne C. Ferreira

Data Type(s): Location-Elevation: Navigation, Location-Elevation: Transects, Time Series: Mooring (physical oceanography)

Scientific Purpose/Goals: Monitor wave height near China Camp marsh and water level within China Camp marsh during 2015/16 winter. Collect baseline topographic transects of marsh edge to monitor for geomorphic change.

Vehicle(s): None

Start Port/Location: San Rafael, CA

End Port/Location: San Rafael, CA

Start Date: 2015-10-26

End Date: 2016-04-30

Equipment Used: Trimble R7 GPS (AS), Other

Information to be Derived: Time series of wave height and period in San Pablo Bay shallows adjacent to marsh in China Camp State Park. Time series of water level at one location within marsh, to monitor effects of tides and storm surge on marsh inundation. Baseline topographic transects of marsh edge to monitor for geomorphic change.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Josh Logan submitted GPS data to FAD on 1/8/2016

Staff: Peter Dal Ferro, Joanne C. Ferreira, Joshua Logan

Affiliate Staff:

Notes: 1 day at sea for deployment, 1 for recovery (in April). 3 days in the marsh to deploy and recover pressure sensor and collect topographic transects.
