Other ID: 16FWR05

Status: Completed

Organization(s): USGS, St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission

Funding Program(s):

Principal Investigator(s): Marci Marot, Christopher Smith

Affiliate Investigator(s): Cary Lopez (FWC), Alina Cochran (FWC)

Information Specialist(s): Marci Marot

Data Type(s): Environmental Data: CTD, Imagery: Photo, Sampling: Biology, Sampling: Geology

Scientific Purpose/Goals: Examine effects of sediment resuspension on Pyrodinium cysts distribution and viability.

Vehicle(s): Ford F-350 Dually Silver (GSA)

Start Port/Location: Clearwater, Florida

End Port/Location: Clearwater, Florida

Start Date: 2016-04-04

End Date: 2016-04-04

Equipment Used: Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth (CTD) Probe, Digital Camera, Push Corer, Core Barrels, Grab Sampler

Information to be Derived: grain size, beryllium-7 and thorium-234 activities, organic matter content

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: USGS scientists collected six sediment push cores from three unique sites in Old Tampa Bay, a segment of the larger Tampa Bay estuary. During field sampling, ancillary water column physical properties measurements were collected at each site.
