End Port/Location: Saint Petersburg, Florida

Start Date: 2016-10-31

End Date: 2016-11-11

Equipment Used: Camera, Digital, Hand Held, Collapsible Tripod, GPS Pole, GPS topographic survey buggy, Other, Ashtech ProFlex 500 GNSS Receiver, Ashtech Z-Xtreme DGPS, Choke Ring Antenna, Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR), Other

Information to be Derived: 1) GPS ground control point data collection in support of Lidar. 2) Mapping perimeter extent of selected overwash areas identified in satellite imagery. 3) Measure overwash deposit thickness and sediment composition (sampling). 4) Description notes and photographs.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: 16LGC01 Collection Summary Total Sites = 7 Total GCP = 161 points Total Survey wheel - 15,174 meters Total Trenches = 13 Total Sediment samples from trenches = 33 Total Sediment cores = 5 (Canaveral only) Total SfM locations = 34

Staff: Nancy DeWitt, Andrew Farmer, Kyle Kelso, Hunter Wilcox

Notes: Contacts for GCP questions should be directed to Chris Reich, Xan Fredericks, or Cheryl Hapke.
Contacts for overwash questions should be directed to Chris Smith.

The starting and ending points for the SPCMS teams will be the St. Petersburg office. The WHCMSC will have their own FAN number. Stay overs for the teams will be in the local city or town as dictated by the location of the planned ground control locations.

Location:

Hutchinson Island (FL) to VA/MD border. 23 sites are spaced out along the coastline at ~50 mile increments.
