Other ID: none

Status: Completed

Organization(s): USGS, Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center

Funding Program(s): Estuarine Processes, Hazards, and Ecosystems (LQ00G3S)

Principal Investigator(s): Neil Kamal Ganju

Affiliate Investigator(s):

Information Specialist(s): Jonathan Borden, Sandra Brosnahan, Neil Kamal Ganju, Daniel Nowacki, Elizabeth Pendleton, Emily Sturdivant

Data Type(s): Imagery: Photo, Location-Elevation: Navigation

Scientific Purpose/Goals: We'll be collecting high resolution imagery to create DEM's, point clouds and orthophotos for marsh stability modeling.

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: Plum Island, MA

End Port/Location: Plum Island, MA

Start Date: 2018-02-25

End Date: 2018-02-26

Equipment Used: 3DR Solo mRo, Spectra Precision SP80, MicaSense RedEdge, Ricoh GR II

Information to be Derived: We'll be collecting high resolution imagery for processing in photoscan to create products for elevation and vegetation surveys.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Aerial imagery was collected by an unmanned aerial system (UAS) at Plum Island Estuary and Parker River NWR, MA February 27, 2018. This collection was acquired to explore the UAS potential for mapping marsh ecological systems, vegetation diversity, and creating high resolution elevation maps. 3338 Ricoh GRII photos (19.4 GB) were collected along with 13,415 mica photos (24.8 GB), 24 GCPs
