Scientific Purpose/Goals: The purpose of this study is to investigate biomass quantification of a marsh using a multispectral camera mounted on a UAS.

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: Woods Hole, MA

End Port/Location: Woods Hole, MA

Start Date: 2019-07-08

End Date: 2019-07-12

Equipment Used: 3DR Solo mRo, Spectra Precision SP80, Aeropoint targets, 3DR Solo mRo, MicaSense RedEdge, Ricoh GR II

Information to be Derived: We will be collecting raw photos to be processed using photogrammetric techniques, as well as GPS coordinates to be used as ground control for the products.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: On July 9, 2019 the AIM group traveled to the Plum Island estuary to fly the Micasense multispectral camera, and the Ricoh GRII camera mounted on the firefly pro6 UAS platform. This project was a collaboration with Marine Biological Laboratory and their ongoing study looking at carbon sequestration in the marsh.
