Other ID: none

Status: Completed

Organization(s): USGS, St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center

Funding Program(s): Tampa Bay Estuary Program - TBEP (GR.23.MN00.TN166.00)

Principal Investigator(s): Kimberly Yates

Affiliate Investigator(s):

Information Specialist(s): Christopher Moore

Data Type(s): Geochemical: Surveys (geochemical), Environmental Data: Dissolved Oxygen, Environmental Data: Temperature, Environmental Data: Pressure, Environmental Data: Conductivity, Environmental Data: CO2, Environmental Data: pH

Scientific Purpose/Goals: Monitoring and assessment of an autonomous carbonate system deployed in Tampa Bay, FL. The Ocean Carbon System (OCS) site will be visited routinely, approximately every 2-3 weeks, for equipment maintenance/service or more frequently should instrumentation troubleshooting be required.

Vehicle(s): Ford F-350 Dually White (GSA)

Start Port/Location: St. Petersburg, Florida

End Port/Location: St. Petersburg, Florida

Start Date: 2019-02-01

End Date: 2019-02-01

Equipment Used: Ocean Carbon System (OCS)

Information to be Derived: Instrument functionality and accuracy.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Data obtained from this system will include time series measurements of carbonate system parameters: water temperature (°C), conductivity (siemens), pressure (dbars), salinity, pHT (pH on the total scale), carbon dioxide (ppm), dissolved oxygen (micromol/L), and photosynthetically active radiation (microEinsteins).
