Affiliate Investigator(s):

Information Specialist(s): Jin-Si Over

Data Type(s): Location-Elevation: Navigation, Imagery: Photo

Scientific Purpose/Goals: To collect pre and post storm profile data for Hurricane/Tropical Storm Henri to compare to total water level predictions and to observe changes in front of the CoastCams deployed at Head of the Meadow and Marconi Beach

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: Woods Hole, MA

End Port/Location: Truro, MA

Start Date: 2021-08-20

End Date: 2021-08-24

Equipment Used: Spectra Precision SP80, Digital camera

Information to be Derived: Elevation of bluff and beach at low tide pre and post storm.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Pre-Henri data was collected on 8/20 at low tide at Head of the Meadow Beach (J. Over) and at Marconi Beach (C. Sherwood). Due to Friday crowds and last minute planning the CORS network was used which did not give good data at Marconi and some usable data at HOM. Post Storm data was collected by J. Over at HOM on 8/24 at the evening low tide with a base station. A complete survey was done there. Data was post-processed on 8/26.
