Principal Investigator(s): Christopher Smith

Affiliate Investigator(s): Brandon Boyd (USACE)

Information Specialist(s):

Data Type(s): Sampling: Geology

Scientific Purpose/Goals: To determine sediment accumulation rates for potential restoration scenario

Vehicle(s): Ford F-250 Stone Grey

Start Port/Location: St. Petersburg, FL

End Port/Location: Ocean Springs, MS

Start Date: 2021-12-14

End Date: 2021-12-17

Equipment Used: Push Corer

Information to be Derived: Run samples for alpha spectroscopy for determination of lead-210.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Collect 4-6 marsh push cores. RTK at each site. Collect single peat auger for depth to peat (discard in field).

Staff: Joseph Vargas, Alisha Ellis, Benjamin Galbraith, Nancy DeWitt

Affiliate Staff:

Notes: Cores will be handed off following collection, they will not arrive at SPCMSC for alpha spectroscopy until sediment is shipped from USACE following sediment analyses.
