Scientific Purpose/Goals: To investigate the influence of tides, waves, and water levels on near-marsh suspended sediment concentration (SSC) and deposition on tidal marsh surfaces.

Vehicle(s): MarFac; Dodge Ram truck G43-1698S, MarFac; Expedition G62-3094P

Start Date: 2022-04-01

End Date: 2023-05-01

Equipment Used: Trimble R10, Nortek Vector ADV, CTD - RBR, watersamples, OBS

Information to be Derived: Hydrodynamic data, sediment grain size and bulk density, SSC

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Water samples were collected and analyzed for suspended sediment concentrations, sediment grabs were collected and analyzed for bulk density, grain size, and carbon. Tidal creek discharge was measured. Additionally, hydrodynamic data including current velocities, pressure, temperature, salinity, were collected at locations in the subtidal and intertidal shallows of San Pablo and Corta Madera Bays, and within a tidal creek in Corta Madera marsh. A marsh top sensor collected pressure and turbidity at marshes just inland from the intertidal stations.
