Affiliate Investigator(s):

Information Specialist(s): Jin-Si Over

Data Type(s): Location-Elevation: Navigation, Location-Elevation: Transects, Imagery: Photo

Scientific Purpose/Goals: To collect pre and post elevation data for Hurricane Lee on the Outer Cape.

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: Woods Hole

End Port/Location: Cape Cod National Seashore

Start Date: 2023-09-12

End Date: 2023-09-20

Equipment Used: Ricoh GR II, Parrot Anafi, Aeropoint targets, Digital camera, 3DR Solo mRo, Spectra Precision SP80

Information to be Derived: elevation profiles, photos for structure-from-motion

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: GPS data (elevation transects) were collected at Head of the Meadow, Marconi, and Nauset Light beaches before and after Hurricane Lee. Base station and rover were used at HoM and Marconi, the CORs network was used at Nauset. A reference mark was established in the Nauset Light parking lot. Drones (3DR Solo and Parot Anafi) were used at Nauset Light to collect photos of the Nauset Light Beach before and after the storm. Aeropoints were used as ground control.
