Scientific Purpose/Goals: To collect samples of six (6) species of Pacific stony corals to screen for background levels of antibiotic resistance genes (ARG).

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Collected four (4) biological replicate samples of each of the six (6) coral species: Porites lobata, Pocillopora meandrina, Montipora patula, Montipora flabellata, Pocillopora eydouxi, Montipora capitata; preserved in RNAlater in 50ml tubes and shipped to USGS Coral Microbial Ecology lab in St. Petersburg for processing.
