Scientific Purpose/Goals: Test our two thermal cameras with different collection parameters to determine the best method for detecting groundwater discharge.
Vehicle(s):
Start Port/Location: Woods Hole, MA
End Port/Location: Woods Hole, MA
Start Date: 2024-02-05
End Date: 2024-02-07
Equipment Used: Altum-PT, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
Information to be Derived: thermal imagery, natural color imagery
Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Two cameras were mounted to a DJI Matrice 600 UAS to collect simultaneous thermal imagery. The comparative test was to determine whether one of the cameras was reporting erroneous data and if it was possible to see temperature variations in the water with the camera that was operating normally. Videos and images were collected during the short flight and viewed back in the office. No data is planned to be published from this field activity.
