Data Type(s): Sampling: Geology, Sampling: Chemistry

Scientific Purpose/Goals: To evaluate winter time geochemical and hydrological processes in coastal wetlands.

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: Wells, ME

End Port/Location: Wells, ME

Start Date: 2024-11-01

End Date: 2024-12-31

Equipment Used: Push corer (wh), Push Point porewater samplers, Field water quality meters

Information to be Derived: Dissolved carbon content, ancillary geochemical data, sediment characteristics.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Surface water and porewater collections for 2024 are completed; monthly collections continue into 2025. Samples are stored in WHSC walk-in freezers and refrigerators or distributed to external laboratories for analysis. Gas flux measurements are completed. Raw data files and field notes are stored in WHSC network folders.
