Principal Investigator(s): Renee Takesue

Affiliate Investigator(s):

Information Specialist(s): Renee Takesue

Data Type(s): Environmental Data: Turbidity, Sampling: Geology

Scientific Purpose/Goals: Measure time series of waves & turbidity

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: Poulsbo, WA

End Port/Location: Poulsbo, WA

Start Date: 2007-04-18

End Date: 2007-04-18

Equipment Used: opticalbackscattersensor, handsamplegrab

Information to be Derived: 1- mo. time series of waves & turbidity

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: In situ Self-Logging Optical Backscatter sensors (SLOBS) were deployed on the west side of Point Bolin, WA and at Sandy Hook, WA. Surface grain size samples were collected at each site.

Staff: Renee Takesue, Jessica Lacy, Chris Curran

Affiliate Staff:

Notes: The Pt. Bolin SLOB was deployed in a Zostera marina bed (eelgrass) at approximately -1.2 feet (MLLW) water with the sensor 7.5 inches above the sediment surface. The Sandy Hook SLOB was deployed in a Z. marina bed (eelgrass) at approximately -2 feet (MLLW) with the sensor 13 inches above the sediment surface. Sensors cleaned weekly.
