Scientific Purpose/Goals: To collect sediment samples from Tokeland and Kindred Island for thermoluminescence dating
Vehicle(s):
Start Port/Location: ?
End Port/Location: ?
Start Date: 2001-02-23
End Date: 2001-02-23
Equipment Used: GPS, handsamplegrab
Information to be Derived: Time passed since sediment was last exposed at surface, petrographic analysis
Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Holes were dug at one location on Tokeland and one location on Kindred Island. Two samples for thermoluminescence testing were taken at depth from each hole. Four bulk samples were taken in each hole, two at depth and two near the surface. One of each will be used for background OSL levels and the other will be petrographically analyzed.

Notes: All samples were collected for and shipped to Robert Morton with the St. Petersburg, FL office where the petrographic analysis will be performed. Thermoluminescence dating will be done by a USGS lab in Denver.
