Information to be Derived: Bathymetry and Acoustic Backscatter This effort is part of a multi-disciplinary GD/BRD/WRD study entitled, Effects of regional wetland restoration on mud flats of the South San Francisco Bay: avian ecology, food webs, and sediment supply . Other surveys included in this effort: S-16-08-SF, S-1-09-SF and S-3-09-SF.

Notes: South Bay Salt Ponds. Broadcast Base station RAV3 was used for the GPS navigation for swath bathymetry. The coordinates for RAV3 are in the NAD83(2007) reference frame and that the vertical datum is a height-mod elevation of NAVD88. See Navigation metadata for coordinates.

Portions of the main channel and western shallows/intertidal mudflats were surveyed using an interferometric sidescan sonar system following procedures detailed in Foxgrover and others, 2011. The bathymetry is provided as a 1-m resolution raster in geoTIFF format, referenced to the vertical datum of mean lower low water (MLLW).
