Subsurface mooring that includes a 36 inch steel float (orange ball) with temperature-salinity sensor attached, a time-series sediment trap (yellow cone) being deployed from U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Marcus Hanna in Massachusetts Bay. This mooring was deployed anchor first because it is only 10 meters or so long, and because of the forward deck and large crane available on the Marcus Hanna. Usually the mooring anchor is the last component deployed.
