Field Activity 1976-003-FA

Identifier 1976-003-FA
Purpose The objective of the WHITEFOOT cruise was to deploy current meters at two stations as part of the NSF shelf dynamics experiment, and to recover two bottom mounted instrument packages deployed for BLM sediment movement studies.
Location Middle Atlantic Bight, United States, North America, North Atlantic;
Summary The primary recovery scheme failed on the first recovery attempt so that the bottom packages had to be recovered by grappling. The current meters were deployed and both tripods successfully recovered. Number of working days: 5; Total ship track: 680 nm; Moorings deployed: 2 (no mooring #s). Moorings recovered: 2 (#104 CINDY and #105 DEBBIE both deployed FA 75032 ATLANTIC TWIN Dec. 10-12, 1975).
