Field Activity 1980-005-FA

Identifier 1980-005-FA
Purpose Map shallow limestone aquifers (60-200 feet) in Peace River, Myaha River, and Charlotte Harbor, Florida.
Location Peace River, Myaha River, Charlotte Harbor, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, United States, North America, North Atlantic;
Summary Nonlinear hydrophone array gave extremely good high-resolution/deep penetration data. Standard linear array (15 phones 12 inches apart) provided poor resolution in the upper 20-50 feet, although the deeper data (150 feet) were good. On a small boat (21 ft. whaler), lash Uniboom to one side and tow hydrophone off opposite side, not extending back past stern due to prop noise.
Info derived Sea floor map;
