Purpose Characterization and biological studies of Oculina deep water coral habitat using ROV, sediment grab, and listening devices. This is a NOAA cruise on a NASA ship. No USGS participants were on board, but sediment grab samples were taken and shipped to K. Scanlon.

Summary Because of ship problems, the operation was switched from R/V LIBERTY STAR to R/V FREEDOM STAR half way through the cruise. 39 sediment grab samples were collected. Samples were collected by Leslie Sautter for Kathy Scanlon and were analyzed in Woods Hole.
