Field Activity 2010-106-FA

Identifier 2010-106-FA
Purpose Determine the concentrations of mercury in the fish of Oyster Pond.
Location Oyster Pond, Falmouth, Massachusetts, United States, North America,
Summary Four specimens of adult white perch were collected within 10 m upstream and downstream of the Oyster Pond weir using a spinning rod with a streamer fly that resembled the migrating young-of-the-year herring. The fly was cast with the aid of a water filled bobber. The fish weights ranged from 125-513 grams. They were sampled for analysis of total mercury and the remainders were wrapped in aluminum foil and frozen as an archive.
Info derived Samples and chemical analysis; Determinations of mercury in white perch and river herring.
