We aim to constrain the sediment transport direction and magnitudes within different reaches of the
Herring River, under different external forcing conditions. The data collected from this study will add to existing knowledge of Herring River sediment dynamics and guide adaptive management and restoration of the Herring River Estuary and salt marshes.
Location
Herring River Estuary
Info derived
Time-series data of water level, currents, turbidity, and other water-quality parameters (temperature, salinity, chlorophyll, dissolved oxygen, pH/ORP, fDOM, algae). Grain size of sediment samples collected from the bed of each site. Suspended sediment concentrations of water samples collected at each site.
Comments
This will be a multi-year monitoring project and site visits will be routine (every 1-3 months). We would like this to be an event-based FA.

Recon for Herring River Flux project. We are visiting and collecting sediment samples at potential monitoring sites. The main purpose is to choose and establish locations for specific deployment sites for this project. Personnel: Neil Ganju, Meagan Eagle, Steve Suttles, Robert Bales, Eric Marsjanik.
