Field Activity B407PS

Identifier B407PS
Alternate names B-4-07-PS
Purpose Measure time series of waves & turbidity
Description United States Geological Survey, Pacific Science Center. Chief Scientist: Renee Takesue. Turbidity and Wave Sensor Deployment data (opticalbackscattersensor, handsamplegrab) of field activity B-4-07-PS in Poulsbo, WA from 04/18/2007 to 04/18/2007
Location WA
Summary In situ Self-Logging Optical Backscatter sensors (SLOBS) were deployed on the west side of Point Bolin, WA and at Sandy Hook, WA. Surface grain size samples were collected at each site.
Info derived 1- mo. time series of waves & turbidity
Comments The Pt. Bolin SLOB was deployed in a Zostera marina bed (eelgrass) at approximately -1.2 feet (MLLW) water with the sensor 7.5 inches above the sediment surface. The Sandy Hook SLOB was deployed in a Z. marina bed (eelgrass) at approximately -2 feet (MLLW) with the sensor 13 inches above the sediment surface. Sensors cleaned weekly.
