Contractor Western Geophysical Company of America will conduct a high-resolution geophysical survey on the upper continental slope in the Gulf of Mexico, north of latitude 26 N, in water depths between 100 m and 1,000 m with seismic lines spaced from 7.5 to 18.5 km apart in a reconnaissance grid pattern.
Location
upper continental slope, Texas to Florida, Gulf of Mexico, United States, North America, North Atlantic;
Summary
The released data consist of single-channel geophysical records from a 3.5 kHz sub-bottom profiler and a 1,000 joule sparker operated simultaneously throughout 18,074 km of ship's track: Lines 1A, 2 thru 214, 20A, 22A, 26A, 30A, and 69A. Data quality for all records at all water depths was good to excellent. Other data collected includes bathymetry and magnetics.
