Field Activity 1981-030-FA

Identifier 1981-030-FA
Alternate names 81-G-13
Purpose Primary purpose was to survey the buried paleoshelf edge along the south side of Georges Bank using the DFS V high-resolution multichannel seismic reflection system. The second objective was to survey the buried grabens along the north side of Georges Bank, south of Martha's Vineyard and Long Island.
Location Georges Bank, Long Island shelf west of Nantucket Shoals, United States, North America, North Atlantic;
Summary The Georges Bank portion of the survey was not completed due to loss of the streamer. Magnetic and gravity anomaly data were collected to aid interpretation. Gravity: 3100 km; Magnetics: 2350 km; Bathymetry: 2350 km; 3.5 kHz seismics: 2350 km; Multichannel seismics: 2350 km.
