Field Activity 1984-023-FA

Identifier 1984-023-FA
Purpose Shallow water, high-resolution reflection and refraction seismology utilizing an explosive sound source, 3-axis geophone and single hydrophone sensors, and a sonobuoy telemetry system. Additionally, a USGS ocean-bottom seismograph was deployed.
Location Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, United States, North America, North Atlantic;
Summary All equipment worked well. There seems to be an electronic coupling problem between the geophone system and the sonobuoy transmitters. This problem will be addressed this winter and the experiment will be attempted again in Spring of 1985.
