Field Activity 1989-013-FA

Identifier 1989-013-FA
Alternate names AST-89-1
Purpose To fill in some data gaps from previous cruises, and to better define the position and extent of some of the offshore moraines.
Location eastern Long Island Sound, Connecticut, United States, North America, North Atlantic;
Summary Various combinations of sources and hydrophones were tried. None yielded the results required to complete this work. The data are generally poor (Huntec did better than Datasonics). Seismic lines 4 (1340 hrs., LORAN line 43950, North of Plum Island) and 6 (1540 hrs., LORAN line 26220) have some interesting sections. All paper records, navigation tapes and notes are archived at the Long Island Sound Resource Center, UCONN-Avery Point.
