Purpose Determine sediment distribution and thickness behind Bonneville Dam, sediment budget for Columbia River, and geologic control on benthic habitat (salmon, white sturgeon).

Summary Completed sidescan mosaic of reservoir. Approx. 30 km of sub-bottom collected before davit failed; fish lost, recovered 3 days later! Samples collected at 21 sites, most with good video and still photos. Sidescan sonar; Sub-bottom: 15 lines, 30 km; Samples.
Comments This is a request for technical support for an expansion of the SW Washington project. First two weeks the investigation will be supported by technicians from Menlo Park.
