Field Activity 2003-002-FA

Identifier 2003-002-FA
Alternate names 03CRC01, S-1-03-FL
Purpose Map and image deep water reef communities in the Pulley Ridge area of the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Multibeam mapping and Chirp high-resolution seismic profiling will be conducted using USF equipment. The USGS SEABOSS system will be used to obtain high-resolution images of these reef communities.
Location Pulley Ridge, west Florida platform, Florida, southeastern Gulf of Mexico, United States, North America, North Atlantic;
Summary Video transects: 14 (18 hrs tape); Still photos: 1161; Seismic lines: 9; Multibeam regions: 3; Coral (Leptoceris cuculata) samples: 18; SEABOSS grabs: 9; Dredge sample: 1. Coral samples and grabs in St. Petersburg with Kate Ciembronowicz. Video and still photos in St. Petersburg with Kate Ciembronowicz and in Woods Hole with Dann Blackwood. Seismic, multibeam data and dredge data at USF with Brett Jarret. Digital logs in St. Petersburg with Kate Ciembronowicz.
Info derived Time series data; Samples and chemical analysis; Habitat maps; Sea floor map; Bathymetric maps;
