Identifier 2012-034-FA
Purpose Characterize seafloor and subsurface geology of Barnegat Bay-Little Egg Harbor.
Location Barnegat Bay, NJ
Summary R/V Rafael collected 1050 kms of bathymetry, backscatter, and seismics, along tracklines spaced 50-m apart between 20 Mar (JD080) and 8 April (JD090), 2012. Mini-SEABOSS survey operations (10-12 April, 2012) collected bottom photographs, video and sediment samples at ~ 81 stations.
Info derived Bathymetry and lithology
Comments Note: Due to Hurricane Sandy, this activity was rescheduled from 11/28/12 - 12/16/12 to the dates currently listed. This is a collaboration with the Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center aboard the R/V Raphael. The Swath-468kHz transducers will be unavailable during this time.
