Field Activity 2019-038-FA

Identifier 2019-038-FA
Purpose An assesment of the accuracy, limitations and performance of bathymetric lidar in relation to substrate, depth, SAV, Turbidity and flow of a riverine system.
Location The Potomac River, Shepherdstown WV, through Leesburg VA
Summary This project led by John Young of the Leetown Science Center focused on mapping the bathymetry of the Potomac river using various remote sensing techniques including structure from motion (SfM) mapping using an unmanned aerial system (sUAS).
Info derived We will be collecting multispectral imagery and GPS data for use in photogrammetric analysis.
Comments John Young from the Leetown Science center is the principle investigator for this project. We will be using the Propeller Aeropoint targets to collect GPS data for use in the photogrammetry data products.
