Purpose Kathryn Smith with the EMRG project is deploying and collecting net sediment tiles (NST), shoreline positions, and deploying and retrieving sensors (4 AquaTrolls, 4 RBRs, 4 RuggedTrolls, 1 BaroTroll; combined value ~$30,000) measuring wave height, turbidity, and water level data with Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (GBNERR). Plan is to use GBNERR staff and vessel as often as possible. The study will evaluate the impact of a living shoreline on shoreline erosion and sediment transport. NST will be deployed in Nov 2021 and will be deployed and collected approximately quarterly for 1 year. This is a continuation of 2020-301-FA when data were collected prior to the installation of a living shoreline and of 2021-320-FA, the first couple of data sets collected following installation. 22CCT01 (Feb 13-17 2022) - Retrieve and redeploy net sediment tiles and well sensors. Deploy platforms with sensors. Collect elevation and positional data for marsh features. Coordination with MSU for training. 22CCT02 (March 29-April 2) - Retrieve and redeploy platforms with sensors. Will coincide with MSU staff training on AquaTroll maintenance, cleaning, data downloads, and review programming and deployment procedure. Cold water divers needed. Hopeful return date of 4/1/22; 4/2/22 includes potential weather day.

Swap well sensors (RuggedTrolls), BaroTroll, and replace wells on an as needed basis, downloaded data and redeploy. Retrieve and redeploy platform sensors (AquaTrolls and RBRs) at four sites (valued at over $35k). Perform sensor maintenance, cleaning, data downloads, programming, and training to MSU and SPCMSC staff as necessary. Potential for divers needed. RTK at scarp and sample sites will be collected for shoreline analysis and sediment depositional analyses. Used dually instead of F250.
2022-06-20 2022-06-24 22CCT04: Retrieve and redeploy four platforms with oceanographic sensors from estuary (AquaTrolls, RBRs, valued at over $35k), perform sensor maintenance, cleaning, data downloads, and and training to MSU and SPCMSC staff as necessary. Potential for divers needed. Hopeful return date of 6/22; 6/24 includes potential weather days and allows for shift in departure day if needed. Intend to use boats provided by GNDNERR. Taking Explorer instead of F250.
