Acquire biological samples of invasive organisms for DNA analysis
Location
West coast of US, Puget Sound to San Diego
Summary
Twenty-two samples were collected over the course of 12 days by a spoon or petite gravity corer in shallow water in 14 bays or harbors along the western coast of North America between British Columbia, Canada and San Diego, California, USA. The samples were taken for DNA analysis of the microorganisms (foraminifera), primarily in an attempt to obtain the molecular sequence of invasive microorganisms.
