Field Activity 2023-013-FA

Identifier 2023-013-FA
Purpose We will be testing the new Panoptix sonar which will assist in location deployed bottom landing platforms. We will not be collecting data.
Equipment or personnel only. Data, if any, are managed under a different field activity.
Location Falmouth Harbor
Summary Panoptix did not image the seabed very well, though it did provide good visuals of the water column. There are some settings we can try to adjust for a better visual of the bottom, but doesn't seem like it will be useful for finding bottom landing platforms. No data collected.
Info derived No data will be collected.
Comments Testing is necessary in order to successfully find a deployed platform in NJ later in spring 2023. We hope the Garmin Panoptix sonar will assist with the recovery the platform which will be under a different FA.
